Governor Cooper recently vetoed H576, "Allow Aerosolization of Leachate" (referred to as the "garbage juice" bill.)

This bill would force the Department of Environment Quality to allow the spraying of landfill wastewater into the air (known as Leachate Aerosolization) without a permit.

Whats even more troubling is that there is no science that shows that this technology is effective or safe for the environment or nearby communities, as waste particles, once sprayed into the air, can travel at least a mile, and possibly much farther.
