Yadkin Riverkeeper monitors popular swimming sites in the Yadkin River Basin from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Samples are taken Wednesdays, and results are published on Thursdays. Sites are tested for E. Coli and follow the EPA standard of 235 colonies per 100 ml, expressed as most probably number (MPN), as measured by the IDEXX Quanti-Tray system.
