Join Yadkin Riverkeeper for our member-only Historic Paddles that explore the history of the Yadkin River. Our sponsors include: Cube Yadkin Generation, LLC, Ilderton Dodge, Bunce Buildings, Piedmont Triad Regional Council Bob Pate Memorial Fund for the Yadkin River, Carolina Heritage Vineyard & Winery, Foothills Brewing, and Old Nick Williams Co.
Launching from the newly improved access area on Highway 64, we will paddle past the Cooleemee Plantation and other historic sites to the 801/Concord Church access area. Along the way we will discuss the colonial period history as well as the historic African-American communities that grew up along the riverbanks after the end of slavery. Lunch will be provided and eaten on the River.
For participants in our members-only paddles, boats will be provided free of charge.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Registration closes on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.
YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF YADKIN RIVERKEEPER TO SIGN UP. IF YOUR MEMBERSHIP IS NOT CURRENT, THE PRICE OF YOUR TICKET WILL INCLUDE A MEMBERSHIP TO YADKIN RIVERKEEPER.
