Join Yadkin Riverkeeper for our member-only Historic Paddles that explore the history of the Yadkin River. Our sponsors include: Cube Yadkin Generation, LLC, Ilderton Dodge, Bunce Buildings, Piedmont Triad Regional Council Bob Pate Memorial Fund for the Yadkin River, Carolina Heritage Vineyard & Winery, Foothills Brewing, and Old Nick Williams Co.
A flatwater paddle on a hidden gem of the Yadkin River: Falls Reservoir. Surrounded by the steep, undeveloped mountains of the Uwharries on one side and Morrow Mountain State Park on the other, this paddle feels more like a mountain lake than the Piedmont. We will travel up to the base area of the Narrows Dam, and then explore our way back down to the access area. Lunch will be provided before the paddle.
For participants in our members-only paddles, boats will be provided free of charge.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Registration closes on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.
YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF YADKIN RIVERKEEPER TO SIGN UP. You may purchase a membership here or buy a non member ticket which includes a membership.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions on outdoor gatherings, PADDLE IS LIMITED TO 15 PADDLERS. We will also be taking temperatures upon arrival, requiring masks on land, practicing social distancing on both land and water, and providing hand sanitizer.
IMPORTANT FOR REGISTERED PADDLERS:
This is a 3-hour paddle. Lunch will be provided before the paddle.
REGISTRATION OPENS AT 11AM.
LUNCH AT NOON.
PADDLE BEGINS AT 1PM.
The price of NON-MEMBER paddle tickets include a membership to Yadkin Riverkeeper.
Note: Personal Flotation Devices (PFD's) are REQUIRED for all paddlers. PFD's are included in your kayak or canoe rental, and if you are using a YRK boat; however, if you are supplying your own boat, please bring a PFD.
