Roaring River Paddle

  • Roaring River Canoe Rentals 462 Cotton Mill Road Roaring River, NC, 28669 United States (map)

Our last paddle of the year! We will put in at Roaring River Canoe Rentals, a private access on the Roaring River. Owner John Alexander will provide a history of the multiple dams built on the falls only a few yards upstream of the launch, and some local history. From there, we will float down to the Roaring River to the Yadkin. On the Yadkin, we will pass several former ferry sites and fish weirs, and finally, make the great loop of Roundabout, the colonial farm of Col. Benjamin Cleveland, a well-known leader of the local Militia during the American Revolution. After the paddle, please join us for a wine tasting and charcuterie at Elkin Creek Vineyard from 3-5 PM.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED AND ENDS ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 18th. Please register below.
